Tu BiShvat

"On the first of Shevat, the new year for the trees according to the words of the House of Shammai; The House of Hillel says, on the fifteenth thereof." (Mishna Rosh Hashana 1:1)

Throughout the generations, as a result of the exile, various customs developed that demonstrate our yearning for Eretz Yisrael. Now that we have returned to our land, Tu bishevat has become a day of planting and reinforcing our connection to the land.
